There are so many beautiful things in the Silhouette Design Store! Sometimes it is hard to choose between similar designs or fonts. Whenever selecting, I make sure that I know what I am purchasing. In the case of fonts, some designs may look like a font, but may only be a collection of letters. How can I tell the difference? Well, to find out, Let’s Go Silhouetting…. [Read more…]
My daughter recently had her third little girl! What is a grandma to do? Make new shirts for them, of course! I had seen the designs by Lori Whitlock in the Silhouette Design Store and have been waiting for the baby to arrive. Matching papers and cardstock for my card creations is often the most time-consuming part of creating for me as I look through all my various papers. Do the colors coordinate to my satisfaction? Are the prints complimentary? Do the various patterns have the right proportions to one another? Does one paper’s print overwhelm the others?
One of the nice features of Silhouette Studio is to be able to design and coordinate the elements of your project with patterns that are in your software. By using coordinating prints or exactly matching a color with the eyedropper tool, you can be sure that your various elements will be perfectly coordinated. Now, Let’s Go Silhouetting….
The Silhouette Mint , which makes custom stamps using a thermal printing process, is a recent addition to the crafting machines that I have on hand. Shortly after purchasing it, I made a stamp of my own logo– a fun, easy project! After receiving a wine glass holder made on a laser cutting machine from Thinking Monk Studio (thank you!), I wanted to send something in return. Knowing that his laser cutter could cut many things, I decided to send something that I did not think he could make–a custom logo stamp. I will show you how it was made. Now, Let’s Go Silhouetting!
It is that time of year. I start thinking of those who have been so helpful to me during the year so that I can show my appreciation. Some work tirelessly behind the scenes– my mail carrier, UPS driver, teachers and many others. I want them to know they are appreciated. These cute cards with a gift card can help them get a hot coffee or warm bite to eat. I can show you how easy they were to do. Now, Let’s Go Silhouetting! [Read more…]
Recently I made file tabs for a class that I attended. I knew there would be a significant amount of paper, so I made file tabs that I could use to keep everything organized. I also made sets for my classmates. The tabs turned out to be a huge hit! I received so many requests as to how they were made that I decided to create this tutorial. Now, Let’s Go Silhouetting!
It was an incredible opportunity to participate in the first Terri Johnson Creates Silhouette Instructor Licensing! I am so very grateful that Terri Johnson made this opportunity available. There was so much for me to learn in order to be prepared to help others utilize their Silhouette Cameo to its fullest potential and to operate a business. As a Cameo owner for over three years, I have used my machine in so many ways. As I look over my past projects, I am often surprised as to how beautifully the Cameo cuts and writes to help me create. I would be honored to help you bring your ideas to fruition through the use of your Cameo. Let me know how I may assist you!
